My goals for 2019

Sunday, 30 December 2018

I'm not about to be one of those 'new year new me people'. Like that's not what this post is (just before you go to click off it). Looking back on my 2018 it was a hectic year and I didn't really do much other than work, whilst everyone else enjoyed themselves and whilst this is great for the bank and the boss, I do wish I got out a little more (only a little because you know, massive introvert). So I thought I'd share my 2019 goals with you here and we can all just lol over the fact that I'm probably going to forget about 90% of these goals.

Livin' my best life - can it be summer yet?. TAKEN FROM MY INSTAGRAM

1. I am going to stick to my flipping newsletter this year!, I'm currently designing a template for it as well so it'll be fresh each month, I was struggling to find content but I think I've cracked it now. They'll be sent out monthly, I'm hoping on the 30th of each month so starting with the end of January, I'm not going to give too much away with it so you'll have to sign up to get a sneak peek of it. You can sign up for that here.

2. I really want to get more practice in, in terms of make-up, I do feel like I'm slowly improving but I'd love to be able to boss a cut crease by the end of this year without looking like I've headbutted a palette.

3. I'll try my hardest to publish at least one post a week. This was definitely something work got in the way off, I went over a month without publishing at one point. Working nearly every day and then playing 'catch up' with everything else on days off just left me with no time. This year I'll be making sure I have more time to do the things I enjoy.

4. I'm ever so slightly, maybe thinking of doing some exercise (did any of you collapse then, or?). I haven't done any for about 4 years and it's bad when you start to miss doing it but don't get your hopes up. I was thinking of joining a local running club and I'm dragging one of my friends along with me.

5. Following on from that I'm going to try and just eat etc a little better (I know, first exercise and now this, my organs are in meltdown right now). I've pretty much messed up my eating schedule like a lot from working constantly, sometimes it's too busy for a break so you don't end up eating until like 5 and when you do it it's just whatever you can grab because you're so starving. Now obviously, I'm not going to be able to change the hecticness of my workplace but I can make better choices and instead of grabbing a share bag of Doritos and a dip I'm thinking I can take some light meals to work like pastas and salads. I also got a slow cooker for Christmas so I'm really excited to start using that (next level adulting) and having it on whilst I'm at work ready for dinner when I'm home.

6. SELF CARE. Again with not having much time I wasn't really giving myself  'time out'. This year I want to be able to just chill a little more. My plan generally is to give myself at least 2 full days off a week and I want to be able to just take at least one of those completely to myself. I got some really nice bath sets for Christmas and I also picked up a couple of bits from Lush just before Christmas so I'm hoping to make my way through those bits.
So thankful to live in such a pretty place. Again, from my Insta

7. Again, SELF CARE but this one in a slightly different way. I feel like in the last couple of years I've been able to finally put myself first more but I'm still getting there with it. Basically, I'm really sticking to my guns on the work front this upcoming year, I'm going to learn to say No a little more. If I don't want to work I won't but most importantly I don't want to feel guilty about saying no which I do feel like I've worked a lot on in the last couple of months so I just want to keep that up. I also feel like I'm generally starting to appreciate myself more which I'm honestly so happy about because honestly, I'm a massive people pleaser and I always want to keep everyone happy. I'm not being like a bellend about it but I'm just like so what if someone doesn't like me (for example) don't caré and I'm so proud of myself for that.

8. I want to get out more. I really want to be able to just book some time of work (even if it's just for a day trip) and travel to some new places through the summer, I really want to make the most of living 5 minutes away from a beach as well. I'm going to try and organise my planner with the following;
  • 1 day out with friends,
  • 1 night out (hahaha who am I kidding, we'll do this one every couple months),
  • 1 day to myself,
  • 1 day where just I can just go out with me and Jamie where we can go on day trips etc,
  • 1 brunch with friends.
I found this idea on Pinterest and I really think everyone should try and Include them in their diaries.

9. In terms of my blog I'd love to work with some more brands in the upcoming year, I've dipped my toes into doing this over the last year and I enjoy it so, so much. Whenever a brand emails me I literally act like a 6-year-old on Christmas day, I've put so much work into this blog so being able to collaborate with brands and watching it blossom into something generally makes me so proud, You can find out how to work with me here.

So as usual, I truly hope I can stick to these and I'll look back on them next year and let you know how I've got on with them. What are your goals for 2019?.

Blogmas so far & Moving house

Sunday, 23 December 2018

Here we are again!, I fully intended to be doing these posts weekly but here we are, In my defence - I'm moving house (yes this close to Christmas I'm dumb, ok?). So blogging has sort of just gone down like a lead balloon so far, on top of generally just having no time at all, I had so many plans that have been bulldozed over by essentially the move but anyway, Here's Blogmas so far. I'm so excited to be getting back into the festive spirit. I did want to do 'Vlogmas' but I don't really have a decent enough camera or editor so I'm going to merge the two - usual posts but with mini vlogs and time-lapses added in (I'm really treating you here).

Evergreen Tree on Apple  | Winter walks

There's been a few weeks of rain (she says like she doesn't expect that from Cornwall) but the other day was literally so lovely which was actually moving day (I'll chat about that in a sec) so we was really lucky, so we had a lil walk beforehand and it was actually so, so nice.

Evergreen Tree on Apple  | Decorations

So, I made a lil timelapse of me putting the tree up which was hella stressful and even before the move I had to take it down and re-do it countless times because generally, it just didn't look right (I like my tree to be perfect). I only waited 2 days after the move before whacking my tree back up because I thought if it wasn't done then, it wouldn't have been done at all which was right because it's been non stop around here with decorating. Luna has, of course, ruined my tree daily since it's been back up. Oh, the joy of cats and Christmas trees.

Evergreen Tree on Apple | Exciting news

Earlier on, as myself and Jamie were heading into town we got a phone call from a landlord, offering us a flat. We've been after one for a while and this was just completely out of the blue (We applied for it in September but someone else took it - it's now come back up!). We're absolutely thrilled; we view it at some point over the next couple of weeks!). We've started packing and whilst I'm going to miss our little cosy flat (I've cried a lil' ngl) I'm excited about a new chapter.

Evergreen Tree on Apple | The move itself

So today is the first day everything in the new place is put away in its place, I've popped my tree up and slowly started with glossing. The last tenants didn't leave this place in the best state so the last few days has purely been scrubbing and using buckets worth of Detol on literally everything. There's still plenty to be getting on with as well. However, I've spent a good 3 hours today sanding and glossing (one door) and I'm making a start on giving the place as much TCL as I can to make a house a home.

10 beauty gifts under £15 and giveaway

Thursday, 6 December 2018

It's the most, wonderful time of the year which can only mean one thing, manic present shopping. Every year I find myself scouring blogs for gift guides to save me the hassle of 15 hours scrolling through Superdrug, Boots, ASOS, Beauty bay and 50,000 more online stores. I also like to see where people are shopping and what gifts they have their eyes on (I'm nosey, okay?). I'm going to keep this year under a  budget of £15 and I have a little giveaway for you as well. A little gift that you can either re-gift or treat yourself with, I'll talk about it a little at the end of the post.

Who doesn't love a good gift set?,  they're always my go-to for if I'm a bit stuck on an idea. So I've had a little scourer through my fave sites and I've found a couple perfect sets.

*Burt's Bees | A bit of Burts bauble:

The 'Bit of Burts' bauble is absolutely adorable at under half of our budget for £7, it includes a lip balm and a cuticle cream which our 100% natural which is perfect if you're shopping for someone with sensitive skin and it's an adorable little stocking filler or secret Santa. You can grab this from Holland and Barrett for  £7. This adorable little gift will be included in my giveaway, I'll chat about that at the end of the post.

Bayliss and Harding | Festive feet gift set:

Every year, I get at least one set from Bayliss and Harding and I'm always so happy with it. I absolutely love the brand and the gifts are super affordable!, I've picked out one of my fave gifts from them which was the 'festive feet' gift set. It comes with a pair of fluffy socks (who doesn't love a good pair of fluffy socks), some foot scrub salts and a moisturiser and it all smells absolutely gorgeous. It also won't be breaking your bank at £4.29 from Amazon.

Bayliss and Harding | Fuzzy Duck winter hand wash & lotion:

Sticking with Bayliss and Harding  I've picked out this fuzzy duck hand duo set for you and guys, it's adorable. The duos always come on sturdy trays which is nice and they always look great on display. This packaging is literally adorable, the scent mulberry and Christmas tree's which just sounds mouth-watering. you can grab it from Amazon for £8.

Soap and glory | the zest of time gift set :

Soap and glory is another that always springs to mind during gift shopping, they have the lovliest products and they just knock it out the park every year, I've picked out the 'Zest of time' gift set which is one of my favourite scents (Sugar crush). I've got my eye on this for myself, you can grab it form boots for £10.

Fragrance can be a tricky one to get right, so I've picked out a couple of scents I think a lot of people would like. I absolutely love all these personally, what's your fave perfume?.

*Missguided | Boy tears:

I've tried the Missguided perfumes before and they honestly didn't disappoint, they were all I wore until essentially they ran out, I absolutely loved boss babe and it's actually still on my Christmas list for this year, so as you can imagine I lost my tiny mind when I saw they had mists out now!. I generally can't express enough, that this is my fave new body mist. I literally use this daily and it's constantly in my bag. I feel like it's the perfect daytime scent, I love the packaging like it's so cute and the complete Instagram dream. I also love the name of it (it's so thank u, next). you can grab this for  £10 at Superdrug.

Ted baker | Sweet treats:

Jamie brought me this as a gift once and I just fell in love with it, it's such a gorgeous, dreamy scent. I literally used it up so quickly it's unreal. It smells quite sweet, but it's not sickly and it's perfect for daily use. You can pick it up from Boots for £13 (Currently on offer from £18)

Here's the section for all you beauty lovers. I've picked out a few of my favourite make-up sets for you and trust me it as hard to stick to just 10 for this gift guide altogether, I found like 40 gift sets for beauty alone.

Sleek | Ultimatte gift set:

As soon as I saw this in Boots last year, I grabbed one for myself. £4.50 for 4 mini sleek matte lippies bargain. I love the Sleek lippies for so many reasons so this to me is an ultimate bargain. This particular set comes with two metallic lippies and two mattes. You can grab them from Boots.

Soap and glory | full house gift set:

If you couldn't tell already, I love Soap and glory, I won't keep rambling on about them but I came across this gift set on boots and I'm literally going to grab it for myself as soon as I can. In this set, there's the thick and fast mascara, the mother pucker lipgloss and the crazy sexy khol. You can get this from Boots for £10

Revolution | Soph x palette:

The perfect gift for any makeup lover, This palette is full of bold shades and it's absolutely perfect for the festive season. The pigment is amazing and the palette itself is just so pretty. The vibrant colours and the great quality of this for £10 from Superdrug, you can't go wrong. I wrote a full review on this here.

I'm going to be giving away the Burt's Bees bauble to one of you lucky guys!, It's in the scent coconut and it's a lovely little gift, you could treat yourself with it or wrap it up for someone else!. You can enter the rafflecopter below to get involved.

Keeping my hair frizz free coming into the colder months.

Thursday, 29 November 2018

I have the Frizziest hair going, you may know this if you've been reading my blog for a while. I've tried many products over the last few years that claim to 'banish frizz' and have been bitterly disappointed by empty promises. After quite a lot of trial and error (and a huge dent in my bank account) I feel like I've finally found products that work for my hair type (Curly, Dry) and I wanted to share them here, in case any of you frizzy-haired gals out there need some recommendations.

Pre-treating | Shampoo & Conditioner

The last post I wrote about my hair care routine, I was using the ever straight combo from OYX. I'm still using OYX but I've opted for the Morrocan oil version instead because I still like the option of having my (pain in the arse) curls if I fancy them. So I'll wash my hair a couple times a week (I try not to overwash it in case it starts getting super greasy, super quick). I tend to switch between the Moroccan oil shampoo and the touch of silver shampoo to boost my blonde up a little.  The products themselves do an amazing job on my frizzy hair and the conditioner, in particular, does an amazing job on keeping my hair smooth, soft and ready to style.

Pre-styling  |  Before blowdrying

So as I use a lot of heat on my hair, I need to make sure I'm protecting it, Usually, I use ya standard heat defence spray from Boots but I was recently sent a couple of goodies from Design me and honestly, I've fallen in love with them. So I use the Design me,  Fab Me hair treatment and oh my god I generally won't be buying anything else because it's amazing!. I've noticed a massive difference in my hair; It's shiny, looks healthy, Feels smoother, stronger and a hell of a lot less frizzy. If you blow-dry your hair this is a godsend because it makes your hair dry quicker (I don't know how it manages this but it does). I'll definitely be repurchasing this. You can read more about the benefits or purchase the fab  me mist here.

Styling | My go-to autumn hairstyle

So usually I'd try and stay away from heat with reducing frizz, but as I've been using the fab me spray static and frizz is just dramatically reduced, so I don't need to worry about it. My go-to style is the half up half down with a bun, I love that it gets the hair out of my face but still look nice and also it takes like 5 minutes but looks like you've made a massive effort which is just a huge bonus. If the weathers crap or if I'm in a huge rush I'll just whack it up in a bun for ease, which is what I did today.

Locking everything in place | After styling

Okay so I'm a pretty lazy person and I don't want to have to 'touch up' through the day. I like to make sure I can just do my hair and go about my day, I used to just slap moose on my hair but I'm not really a fan of the feel/texture of my hair after I've used that so I've opted for hairspray but it takes a while to find the right one. My favourite from the drugstore is the VO5 strong hold hairspray but recently I've been obsessing over the Design me 'hold me' hairspray and there's quite a few reasons why; It holds my hair so well and it helps to keep the frizz at bay, it leaves my hair looking shiny and lastly (because I'm a massive child) I love the fact that it has a unique 'twisty nozzle' to control hold which I've never come across before. I use the low hold most of the time and medium if it's bad weather outside and my boyfriend also uses medium when he's styling his quiff. This is just all around a really good hairspray and I'd happily repurchase it. You can read more about this hairspray or purchase it here.

Boots haul & First impressions

Thursday, 22 November 2018

Guess who dipped into their no spend savings?, it me (Did you guess?). I've been doing that thing where I literally just run down everything in my stash before splurging (in the name of saving some money). I took a little walk over to boots earlier and restocked my empties and I wanted to share them with you lovelies so I thought I'd do a little post.

Rimmel Finish 25 hour concealer

I literally have been squeezing my lil real techniques detailing brush into my concealer tubes in an attempt to scrape the remains of the concealer. I picked up this one From Rimmel because I haven't used this one from this brand in years and I really liked the last one I did try. This concealer is in the shade 001 (I always need the lightest one). It has a sponge applicator which I like, It claims to be breathable and I truly hope it is. It sounds like a good concealer and I can't wait to give it a try.

Rimmel #Insta fix & go

I've been after a new setting spray since emptying my Urban Decay 'De-slick'. It's a 2 in 1 primer and setting spray which is perfect because my make-up never bluddy lasts!. This suggests you use this after applying your make-up and then through the day to touch up. It's oil free which I didn't notice at first but that's great because I have combination skin which makes finding products that suit me so, so hard.

Boots original dry shampoo

I've come to the conclusion that I physically can't live without dry shampoo (dramatic I know). I know this is going to make me sound either lazy as fuck or grim but I can't be arsed to keep washing my hair daily man. Dry shampoo is just so much easier!. Usually, I go for my favourite Batiste but I'm too skint for that, so I picked up this barg of a dry shampoo for £1.50.

OGX Morrocan oil conditioner

I absolutely love this shampoo and conditioner, I don't think I've brought any other one since trying it. It can be expensive so I do try to hold out for when it's on offer ( A gal can't afford £7 a bottle). I picked it up today for about £4 which is a barg and I guarantee, these are the best shampoo/conditioner you'll try.

Cucumber face wipes

Yesterday, as I cut open my bottle of cleanser to try and scrape out the excess (yeah, seriously) I realised I needed a re-stock, which is actually the whole reason I went to Boots in the first place. I was going to get the same cleanser as usual even though I loved it I just didn't want to spend too much so I just went for the standard £1 wipes I usually grab.

Children in need lucky dip

In my local Boots, they do a yearly lucky dip for children in need, they chuck in loads of goodies and it's usually like 50p a pop. This year it's £1 and the prizes are really good and it's for a good cause so it's a win, win. I went for £2.

In the first bag I got; The max factor healthy skin harmony which is a lil dark for me personally so I might take that one to the charity shop, The Loreal infallible foundation stick in sable which again is a lil dark so I'm going to use this for contour, or I might keep it for a summer foundation because it's only like one or two shades darker and the Lorreal infallible 24 hour lipstick in coral constant which has a 'boosting balm' on one side and an intense colour on the other, I am so excited to try this out.

In the Second bag I got the; Bourjois Rouge Laque in 06 Laque which I absolutely love!, The colour is perfect (I've been after the perfect red for a while), I got another Loreal infallible in Invincible sable. Lastly, I got the Loreal Paris colour riche lippy (matte) in 654 Bronze Sautoir.

Have you tried any of these bits?.

The palette's I've been loving this Autumn

Thursday, 15 November 2018

I'll be the first to admit I have a lil' bit of an obsession over palettes, I'm always swooning after them, I've currently got my eye on the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice and the Origin by beauty bay I wanted to run through a couple of palettes that are in heavy rotation in my makeup stash.

Soph extra spice palette

Soph extra spice palette

Soph Extra spice shades.

One of my favourite palettes currently. This palette has so many great shades making it perfect and versatile for use all year round. Whether you want a sunset look for summer or a berry toned look for Autumn this palette is for you, my friend. The palette is made up of such beautiful bold colours which I love, I don't actually have any other palettes like that after my 'warm tones only' phase. The shadows have a good pigment making the colour pay off perfect, they blend so nicely and they're really easy to work with. Overall this is perfect for a drugstore palette. There's a full review of this palette here.

Original Naked palette

Original Naked palette

Original Naked shades.

The original Naked palette is a staple for any makeup collection. The palette is made up of 12 gold toned eyeshadows; A couple matte but mostly shimmer. The shadows are Silky to the touch which is so nice and they're easy to work with. The price tag on this one is a little bit higher than the other two palettes but the quality you get with it makes it more than worth it. As with all Naked palettes, you get the staple brush which is high quality and blends shadows so nicely (I actually use this with all my eyeshadow palettes).

I heart Revolution rose gold mini palette

I heart revolution rose gold palette

I Heart Revolution Rose gold Shades

This little palette is such a bargain at only £6. It's perfect for travel because of its size (smaller than my iPhone) it's honestly the perfect palette to chuck in your make-up bag. The palette itself has 8 shadows; 6 mattes, 2 shimmers which are all rose gold toned. I found with this I did have to build the shadows up for a decent colour pay off. However, saying this I wasn't using any primer and I also get quite oily eyelids (I know, grim) so some shadows generally don't work well on my skin, especially without a primer. The packaging is very 'Kylie' cross 'Too Faced' a rose gold dripping effect and it's actually really pretty.

How to fit blogging around full time work.

Thursday, 8 November 2018

Hello lovelies, I'm currently sat in the corner at work with a cuppa, a Cadburys break bar (shh, it's a nutritious breakfast), no customers (not entirely true I've had the odd few and I'm bound to be hit with a lunch queue any second) and I felt like writing a lil post, about how flipping hard it can be to squeeze blogging around a full-time job. Don't worry, this isn't going to be a ramble or a massive moan I'm actually going to be dishing out a few pointers on how I manage to do it all. I feel like honestly this whole year, I may as well of live in this lil' building and whilst my blogging uploads have slacked a little bit, they're still happening and somehow I'm still managing. So how the heck do I do it?.

Enjoy blogging

There's no point having a job which sometimes may run you down (I said sometimes, that wasn't a moan). To then go home or do something you hate when you get rest time, this isn't to say it can't be stressful or even at times you might not hate it you might hit a slump of writer's block and honestly not even want to look at your blog, that’s okay. I just mean in general you deserve to enjoy whatever you're doing in your rest time. So for me, blogging is my switch off. I started this blog as a hobby to do in my spare time and I don't even think I expected It to last or even get views or anything, I just enjoyed doing it and I still enjoy it just as much now, the only difference now is I think this could potentially grow into something so I've started being more serious about it.

Lists, Lists, Lists

I have lost count of the number of lists and 'schedules' I write to keep this up to date alongside working; Lists for posts; lists for social media; lists for lists. I have a full diary just for blogging. I'm naturally quite an organised person so this isn't too much of a hassle for me to do personally but if you're hella unorganised reminders on your phone are a perfect way to just give yourself a lil' nudge when something needs doing.

Little & Often

I'm a firm believer in this one purely because work does me over enough as it is that I don't want to wear out doing something I enjoy as well. I have my weekly schedule and I try my best to stick to it and whilst sometimes it doesn't work (cmon' am only human) 99% of the time it works for me. Below is my exact schedule (literally just copied and pasted) so please take some inspo from it;

Weekly -

MONDAY -TAILWIND LIKE MAD; Schedule your pins, if I have a busy week coming up do a couple of weeks at a time, Ideally a Monday or Tuesday would be perfect for this when I'm not in spar, I need to get out of the 'cba'  mindset (lol but seriously once it’s done it's done, simple and you pay for it so get your moneys worth).

TUESDAY  - Take photo's for a week worth on Instagram and also any photos you need for Thursday's post.

FRIDAY -  could be used to write posts up. SHARE YESTERDAYS POST (REFER TO SOCIAL MEDIA LIST).

SATURDAY -   plan out future posts

SUNDAY  - Use Sunday for whatever you need that week.

Keep an eye on stats but don't stress over them, They're just numbers!!!.
(Sorry for the atrocious spelling etc here, it's usually for my eyes only)

So as you can see apart from Wednesday and Thursday there's always something for me to do somewhere (I was just so engrossed in writing there, I completely forgot I was at work… it's okay there's still no customers).

Hopefully, this post helped someone but if not I hope you at least you enjoyed a lil chuckle at how busy my life is and how poor my list making skills are (seriously, I'm telling myself off via list because I already know in advance that future Charlie has not filled her tailwind schedule).

Mini Boots Haul

Sunday, 4 November 2018

oooh, the first late post in a couple weeks like Legit I've been rushed off my feet and currently I may as well live at work but onwards and upwards as they say and hopefully next week will be back to our regular Thursday. So grab a cuppa and a hot water bottle (how cosy does that sound) and let's all indulge in the fact that I broke my spending ban, again. It generally feels like I haven't had a lil splurge in ages. I was on my last pump of foundation (actual horror story) and decided to go after a new one so I've literally been scouring reviews for the last week trying to find an affordable yet decent foundation. I kept leaning towards too faced and benefit but I was strict on myself, stuck to boots and fell into the 3for2 trap.

CYO stay matte foundation

I've tried foundations from CYO before and I find the brand itself can be a little hit and miss, the bits I've tried have been a good enough quality for the prices (it's the cheapest stand in my local boots). The actual foundation itself I actually chatted about in my last post in summary though the shade range is pretty limited, I picked up the lightest and it was still too dark but once I have blended it out properly and I've applied the rest of my makeup it works. Although I loved how it looked when I'd finish all my make-up  It did melt off a little in my oily areas (as do most foundations on me) but I didn't have any setting spray on and I also didn't get chance to re-touch through the day so it may be that.

NYX lip lingerie in Cabaret show,

I've never tried anything from NYX before so this is my first goodie from the brand and I took this as my freebie in my 3for2 and I honestly can't wait to try more, the colour is absolutely gorgeous. The lipstick generally lasts well ( I wore it for 5 hours as well as through eating and drinking with roughly 2 top ups) the only thing I would recommend is using a balm before applying it because it can be a little drying. I'd love to grab this in a few more colours.

Real Techniques Brush cleanser

I've never actually owned a proper brush cleanser (don't judge me) I usually use a hand soap and whilst that usually does the trick just fine I just wanted to give an actual cleanser a go to see if it makes literally any kind of difference and I'm generally not sure if it did. I do like the cleanser you only need a little bit of gel per brush and it brings them up like new and I feel like it didn't take as long to do my brushes as it usually does (with soap it usually takes a few goes before the brush is completely clean). It suggests you use this weekly and I do like the fact it's formulated specifically for brushes rather than essentially whatever I can get my hands on (I'm usually partial to shower gels and shampoo).

I'm so happy with my goodies and I can't wait to grab more of those NYX lippies!, have you tried any of them?

How to fill your make-up bag for under £30 - Autumn Edition

Thursday, 25 October 2018

I've been so excited to write this post since I thought of it, I feel like it's getting to the time of year where everyone is a little shorter on money; people starting back at University, hours dropping in seasonal towns/jobs and people saving for Christmas etc so being the frugal, bargain hunter I am, I've decided to plan for each season a 'Fill your makeup bag for £30' for anyone who needs a top up but doesn't have a huge budget. Lets face it just one foundation from Benefit, Too Faced or Urban Decay would set you back 90% of this budget and whilst high-end makeup is on another level in terms of quality, personally I just can't afford it and I have at times brought drugstore products that have more than lived up to high-end quality but for half the price tag, so I'm sticking to the drugstore for this post. I'm going to fill the imaginary 'make-up bag' with things I'd personally only use daily to make this a little easier,. So I'm giving myself £30 and I'm going to try my hardest to stay within this budget.

BUDGET - £30

Foundation -  CYO no shine zone matte foundation £6

So starting off with Foundation, I honestly think this is where most of the budget will be blown but this is going to be our 'canvas' so we want it to be sturdy and we don't want it to just melt off our face come an hour later. So I've gone for the CYO matte foundation which is £6, I love a matte foundation for autumn personally. The coverage is good and it's surprisingly quite good for oily skin, the only downside of this one is there aren't really many shades.

BUDGET - £24

Concealer - Makeup revolution cover and define concealer £4

On to concealer, my absolute favourite concealer is from the drugstore (Superdrug to be specific), it's the Make-up revolution conceal and define concealer. This concealer covers well, it's a good dupe for the Tarte shapewear concealer, it lasts well and only £4. It's literally my go to. The only thing is it gets used pretty quick because of the size of the doufer applicator.

BUDGET - £20

Setting powder - MUA loose setting powder £4.

I really wanted to include the revolution setting power here because I have been loving that stuff but it's £8 (that's nearly half our budget). So I'm going for the MUA loose setting powder.  This setting powder is a BARG. I've chosen the original setting powder but they also have some colour correcting ones for the same price if they're more up your cuppa tea.

BUDGET - £16

Contour, Highlight and blush - Makeup Revolution £3.50

I'm gonna be cheeky here and join the next three together for the grand total of £3.50 before I just go into the overdraft of our budget with the Make-up revolution blush contour and highlight kit. These little kits are such a bargain and they're actually really good quality for the price!. The highlight in this kit is so pretty as well. I'm not going to buy an eyeshadow here purely because there wasn't enough money and I'm being strict with the budget, but you could always use the contour shade in this as well as the highlight to create a natural, pretty eye look.

BUDGET - £12.50

Eyeliner - MUA eye define felt liner £2

This is another firm favourite of mine, it's the MUA eye define felt liner. I use this daily and I always repurchase it, I personally prefer a felt liner because I just don't have a steady enough hand for a standard liquid liner and my eye also twitches quite a lot during application where it doesn't tend to do it with the felts. I've had mine for a good few months and it hasn't dried up yet which is fab!.

BUDGET - £10.50

Mascara - Barry M feature-length mascara £4.50

This could be a tricky one because all my fave mascaras are £10 + but we only have £10.50 so they're out the window, I'm going to do some review searching and see what I can find that isn’t going to break our budget (fingers crossed). Okay, so I've come to the conclusion that the Barry m feature legnth mascara is the best way to go, the reviews are looking good and although it takes a big chunk of £4.50 out of our remaining £10 it's still such a bargain.

Brows - Revolution brow kit £2.50

Only £6 to go and we still have bits to get!, I'm going to put brows and lippy first (we may have to miss out on the eyeshadow, although if you wanna spare an extra £4 there's a gorgeous autumnal one here). So for brows I'm going back to the trusty Revolution for  little eyebrow quad for £2.50, I actually have the MUA version of this myself and it honestly has everything you could possibly need. This still leaves us with a tiny budget for our lippy!.

BUDGET - £3.50

Lippy -  MUA / REVOLUTION £1 (£2 in total)

So now we're nearly done and I'm going to use my last £3.50 to get a lippy. I really wanted the soph 'cake' to go here but I'm 50p off that (I know right) although if you do wanna splurge the extra 50p it's 100% worth it. So I'm going to go for a couple of the revolution/ MUA lippies here £1 each and they have so many shades as well (BARG). So the most 'Autumnal' shades I can find here are the MUA LIPSTICK 'Shade 2' and I'm also going to go for the Revolution amazing lipstick in Lady and Voila!.

BUDGET - £1.50

So we still have a lil bit of our budget left if you wanted to treat yourself to another lippy but I'm actually so happy with our little makeup bag here, to think high-end wise one thing would set you back half this budget, thank god for the drugstore!.
